Sad day
About once every six months I check that my claim to have one of the oldest pieces of content still live on the BBC site is still true.
And finally, nearly ten years later, it isn't.
(To put this in perspective, this page was created when I was called a webmaster, you got access to the bbc servers by ringing up Ops and persuading them you knew how to use an FTP client, and you had to make sure all your GIFs on a given page shared the same 256 colour pallete. No photoshop, no standard bbc navbar, 3-character file extensions only, and a sloping BBC logo)

This'll stop those notting hill types sneering
Every day it welcomes between 20 and 30 flights – which bring 346 000 people to East London each year. Of these, about 140 000 are holidaymakers, mostly local, and about 15% are foreign tourists.
East London Airport - hard to read with a straight face.

(I don't look my best here it must be said. It's very very hot in the delivery room. Also disappointed that I got so badly nibbled by insects over the last few nights. Must photoshop this picture at some stage... :-)
